The first event for Robin Soderlings Foundation was arranged together with Queen Silvias Childrens Hospital the 11th of July during the tennis week in Båstad.

It was a great day that will be remembered and cherished for a long time by Robin and the team from Robin Soderlings Foundation, and most importantly the children.

Tha day started with everyone getting to know each other and then the handing out of rackets and back packs filled with good stuff :) Big thank you to HEAD, Läkerol, Nordisk Film, and Tieto for the great gifts for the kids.

Then we all headed down to join the SEB kids day that Swedish open and SEB arranged. The kids got to play with tennis greats; Tomas Johansson, Jonas Björkman, Mikael Pernfors, Igor Andreev, Sofia Arvidsson and many more.

After tennis and ice cream we headed to the centre court where Robin and Andreas Vinciguerra had an open practice. By the end of the practice we were all hungry and ready to dig into the player buffé served in lovely restaurant Sand just by the courts. The food was great, and the kids also got to meet the great Swedish hockey player Peter Forsberg, which was greatly appreciated.

Not too soon after our lunch we hit the court together with Robin, Robin’s coach Fidde and physio Ali to get a good warm up and hit some balls. The kids were hitting balls like pros and there was big smiles everywhere I looked.

To round off the day we headed down to the beach where the children, together with Robin, made a master piece that will be framed and sent to Queen Silvias Children and Youth Hospital in Gothenburg. It will be proof of a great day that will live on in our memories for days to come.
